SEGREGATED FUNDS

Segregated Funds

are investment funds administered by Canadian insurance companies. These funds are similar to mutual funds, but are insurance products called ‘variable life insurance contracts’. These contracts offer various guarantees on principal of investment after a certain term, and upon death. They may also offer creditor protection and probate protection.

Segregated fund contracts can be purchased for all registered accounts (RRSP, RRIF, LIRA, LIF, TFSA, RESP), as well as Non-Registered accounts.
